Granny Blacks pub, 57 Candleriggs Empty
PostSubject: Granny Blacks pub, 57 Candleriggs   Granny Blacks pub, 57 Candleriggs EmptyThu Apr 05, 2012 1:55 am

My Great Great Grandmother was Granny Black, who ran the famous Granny Blacks pie shop at 35 Candleriggs.

I don't know of any connection between the two but I am curious. My Great Grandfather opened the Rabbie Burns at 153 Trongate in 1888, so I suppose there might be a bit of family expertise there?

Does anyone have any information at all about either pub? I know the Black family lived at various addresses in Candleriggs over the years, including Nos. 33, 35 and 75.

Many thanks

Duncan
